Create and update companies and deals in Meridian directly from Claude or ChatGPT, without leaving the conversation. Meridian MCP now has write capabilities.

When Meridian MCP shipped, it gave Claude, ChatGPT, and any MCP-compatible agent a secure way to read a firm's deal context directly from the system of record. The gap that remained was on the other side of the conversation. Once an agent helped you think through a deal, updating your Meridian CRM still meant a separate trip into the app.
Today, we’ve closed that gap. With an MCP connection, you can now write to Meridian as well as read your deal data from it.
Pipeline updates, stage moves, deal team changes, and status notes are supposed to keep the system of record current, but in practice that work often happens after the fact. An associate moves a deal to due diligence during a call, then updates Meridian later. A partner reassigns the deal team in a message, then someone else logs the change in the CRM. The context exists, but the write step still runs through a person and a browser tab.
The ability to write to Meridian through an MCP connection solves this problem. Deal teams can now make the updates directly from the conversation where the work is already happening. Today that’s Claude and ChatGPT, but we’ve built our MCP to work with whatever MCP-enabled AI tools come after.
This first read-and-write MCP release covers two of the most commonly used objects in Meridian: companies and deals.
Companies. Create a new company, update its details and custom attributes, post or clear a company update, link add-on companies to a platform company, or set a company's primary deal.
Deals. Create a new deal, move it between pipeline stages, change the deal team, or post a pipeline update, all from the same conversation.
Plus, teammate lookup. Assigning a deal team through an agent only works if the agent can resolve a name or email to the right person, so a new teammate lookup has shipped alongside the write tools.
Say you're reviewing a call transcript with Claude and it's clear the deal should move to diligence. You ask Claude to move it, and the stage change happens in Meridian in the same conversation, without switching tabs.
Or say a deal changes hands. You ask Claude to reassign the deal team by name, and Meridian looks up the right teammates and updates the record directly.
Every record MCP creates or changes is labeled as such in Meridian. Companies and deals created this way carry a source of "MCP," and every action taken through an agent is stamped in the record's history as the user's name followed by "(via MCP)." Your team can always tell what was done by hand and what was done through an agent, and correct it in the app if something goes wrong.
There are no whole record delete tools in this release, and that was a purposeful decision. Deleting a company can cascade to the people connected to it, so removing a full record still happens in the app. Clearing most individual fields, however, is supported through MCP.
This release also covers companies and deals only. People, meetings, documents, and notes are planned for future releases.
